Challenge
Growers buy control, lighting and monitoring equipment from different suppliers and end up with several panels, several protocols and incompatible data. Imported equipment is also often not designed for local environmental and power conditions.
Our approach
Doralink, Niadad's hardware business unit, designs the control, light and monitoring layers with one data model and one shared protocol. Electronics, firmware and the data platform are designed in one team so that integration is built into the product rather than patched on.
Solution
The product line includes smart controllers for lighting, dosing, power distribution and environmental sensors with Modbus addressing; low, medium and high-power LED grow lights with tailored spectra; isolated constant-current drivers; and wired and wireless sensor nodes. All devices connect to the control and data platform that keeps the data, carries the events and builds the dashboards.
Technology
Modbus controllers for lighting, dosing and power distribution
LED grow lights with tailored spectra
Isolated, dimmable constant-current drivers
Environmental and plant sensors, wired and wireless
Data platform: data lake, event streaming and dashboards
Firmware and custom board design
Results
The control, light and monitoring layers are designed on one data model and one protocol.
Devices are engineered for durability in the humid, warm greenhouse environment.
One centralised management panel for every controller, light and sensor.
Next phase
Completing the product family, field trials in commercial greenhouses and connecting the intelligence layer for automated decisions on monitoring data.
